  • Nurses Award 2020. Nurse Practitioner Level 3A/4A (to be negotiated)

Penrith Head to Health is a new service that will offer a welcoming, safe and inclusive way to support community mental health and wellbeing. The service will provide access to short to medium term mental health and wellbeing support and help people navigate and access local services.

As one of the eight new Adult Mental Health Centres funded by the Australian Government, Penrith Head to Health embeds lived experience into the service model.

With the service opening in December 2021, Penrith Head to Health is in its establishment phase. We have completed a community co-design process and the building fit-out in progress. This current recruitment round is to establish the inaugural team for this important service for the Nepean Blue Mountains region.

As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will form part of the Penrith Head to Health multidisciplinary team responsible for providing clinical leadership and high-quality, person centred care to people accessing the Centre. Based upon the key principles of Clinical Practice, Leadership, Education and Research, the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team and draws on their knowledge of recovery from mental illness and crisis intervention, to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery.

All position including the mental health nurse practitioner will have the opportunity to work in an identified position and use their lived experience of recovery from mental illness, mental health crisis including suicidal crisis or caring for someone living with a mental illness, to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery.

Mandatory requirements

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Police check
  • Computer literacy
  • Registration as a Nurse Practitioner endorsed Mental Health with the Health Practitioner
  • Regulation National Law Act 2009 with a current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is essential.
  • Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).
