  • CSD Level 2 from $64,363 - $69,031 per annum (pro rata) + super + salary packaging
  • 7 Day Rotating Roster (Flexible 12-8pm)
  • Based in Hurstville & Remote

About the Role

Peer Phone Coaches are people who have a lived experience of mental illness who occupy meaningful roles within the mental health sector and are very strong role models to consumers. As a Peer offering Phone Coaching you will be responsible in providing support for people experiencing issues in the workplace that may be impacting them and their mental health. You will use your lived experience to support and coach a person through the call, identifying appropriate information and referral pathways, and if required, support someone to directly link into a crisis service.

What are we looking for?

  • Lived experience of your own mental illness and a rich understanding of your own processes of recovery
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, or two years’ experience working as a Peer Worker and willingness to undertake Mental Health Peer Work qualification
  • Excellent computer literacy, phone, and written communication skills
  • A willingness to purposefully use your own story to help others further their own understanding of recovery
  • Ability to foster and maintain respectful, professional relationships with consumers, staff and organisations
  • Experience of the public or private mental health system
  • You must have an appropriate length of time in recovery to be able to effectively and safely conduct the peer support worker role, and a willingness to continue to engage in recovery supports where appropriate

  • Australian Working Rights
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (or have received one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive their second dose.)
  • Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National.
