The Position

The Stakeholder and Community Engagement Officer supports Neami’s approach to co-design of services, engagement with consumers and local communities, partnerships with relevant mental health and community organisations.

It is responsible for the mapping and tracking of interactions with key stakeholders at a State and National level, working closely with State and Regional Managers to support their program awareness, partnership and referral activities.

About the role:

  • Develop effective stakeholder mapping tools
  • Support the stakeholder engagement work of the Reconciliation Action Plan Team and State and Regional Managers
  • Develop a community engagement framework that aligns outcomes to the organisational priorities and supports Neami programs and consumers at a local level
  • Ensure the formulation, implementation, monitoring and analysis of results of community engagement initiatives
  • Support the co-design and consumer participation work of the Service Innovation and Design Team
  • Respond to requests from community groups, organisations and other stakeholders for information on Neami services as required

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, community engagement, stakeholder management or communications and/or extensive experience in community engagement or public health.
  • Experience working with community groups and organisations, particularly in health care
  • Highly developed consultation and interpersonal skills including ability to build influential and productive working relationships with stakeholders
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with people from a range of social and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating activities across a broad range of contemporary community engagement methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the mental health and/or community services sector in Australia
  • Current Working With Children Check
