About the Role:

  • Part Time position (0.6 FTE) until 30 December 2022
  • Perth South Metro Region
  • Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

What you will bring to the role?

The Perth Suicide Prevention Coordinator program uses a community development approach, building the capacity of metropolitan groups, agencies and networks to prevent and respond to suicide. The position does not have any direct service function to individuals.

The Suicide Prevention Coordinator will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in mental health or allied health or health promotion
  • Familiarity with mental health and recovery principles
  • Experience/understanding of the theory and practice of community development and capacity building
  • Experience/understanding of suicide prevention and postvention
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and support community-based initiatives
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to negotiate solutions to complex problems in a collaborative setting
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills

  • National Police Check
  • Relevant Clinical qualifications and registrations – Refer to PD
  • Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
