About the Role

  • Part Time – 0.8 FTE (Mon to Thurs)
  • Maximum Term contract until 30 June 2022
  • 74k – 79k p.a, pro rata dependent on skills and experience
  • Based at Neami Fairfield, and/or working mobile with approval

The Department of Fairness, Families & Housing (DFFH) is funding the MHCSS Intake service to deliver the Mental Health NDIS Access Project, as well as intake and bed vacancy coordination function to a number of Youth Residential Rehabilitation Services (YRR) in Victoria. The Access project commenced in June 2018 and is scheduled to conclude on June 30, 2022. DFFH is also funding the Covid 19 Mental Health and Wellbeing service commencing June 2020 and concluding June 2022. In addition, DFFH has funded the Youth Outreach Recovery Service (YORS) from May 2021- June 30, 2022.

Core duties

  • Correspond with referrers via email and phone to confirm receipt of Youth Residential Recovery (YRR)/ Youth Outreach Recovery Support (YORS) nomination and discuss any further information required or identified concerns
  • Present nominations and relevant information to selection panel and facilitate discussion to assess appropriateness of consumer for a YRR and rank their priority of need
  • Assess the eligibility of individuals, urgency and case prioritisation
  • Assess the need for supports such as intensive specialist mental health screening and perform risk assessments including arranging referrals to crisis intervention services, where necessary
  • Provide information on types of services available to support individual needs

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • A Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme Check will be undertaken prior to commencement
  • Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (or have received one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive their second dose.)
  • Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National.
  • Essential: Experience working with young people (16 – 25) is essential i.e. youth services, intake/assessment, program co-ordination
  • Desirable: Specific youth mental health experience
