Variety is the children’s charity that helps when others can’t. Families and organisations can turn to Variety when government assistance isn’t available. Variety provides support through grants for children and their families, for mobility equipment and wheelchairs, community devices and education aids, scholarships in sports and the arts, and therapy services.
For almost 50 years, their vision has been to create a future where every child, regardless of circumstance or ability, can be supported, included and equal. Each year, thousands of children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability, get support from Variety – the Children’s Charity, when they need it.
As the CEO of Variety the children’s charity of Victoria, you will deliver inspirational leadership across the organisation to generate increased revenue including diversification and development of sustainable funding streams, whilst amplifying impact, brand awareness and market penetration.
Reporting to the board, you will develop and implement strategy and business plans, ensuring the organisation’s structure, functionalities and processes are aligned to achieve strategic goals.
You’ll be the spokesperson and public face of Variety VIC and critical to this role will be your ability to develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders including the Variety board, staff, volunteers, individual and corporate supporters, sponsors, partners and media.
You are an entrepreneurial and strategic leader with a background in fundraising or revenue growth and ideally experience within the not-for-profit sector. You have a proven ability to evaluate and deliver change management alongside operational, income and marketing plans to increase the income and impact of an organisation.
You bring an inspiring and empowering management style a strong sense of vision, and solid understanding of the various methods of fundraising. With highly developed and adaptable communication skills, empathy and integrity, you have the ability to influence a large stakeholder and volunteer base.
