Youth Projects (YP) is a small yet mighty charity that provides front line support to young people and individuals experiencing disadvantage, unemployment, homelessness, alcohol and other drug issues. YP supports those looking to re-engage with learning and employment recognising the complex and varying needs of the people they work with and go above and beyond, 365 days a year, to provide pathways out of poverty.

The Role

Following the success and growth over the last five years this newly created role works closely with the CEO and executive team; enabling the organisation to move to its next phase. You will be responsible for delivering support services, systems and processes that operate in a contemporary and inclusive manner, ensuring clients and internal customers receive the best possible service and outcomes.

Additionally, you will:

  • Develop financial strategies for growth and sustainability
  • Demonstrate strong leadership through mentoring and effective communication
  • Be responsible for providing insightful financial information and operational budgets
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team and continue to build successful cross sector relationships
  • Provide timely and concise financial and operational reporting to the CEO and the board.

Skills Required

You are a proven and strategic senior finance executive with experience within a complex or diverse business. You bring a commercial mindset, long-term vision, and a progressive style of people leadership with the ability to implement strategy, mentor and inspire team achievement and can roll your sleeves up when required.

Additionally you can demonstrate success in:

  • Leading organisational optimisation and staff engagement
  • Creating and sustaining a culture of inclusivity
  • Strong business and financial acumen in overseeing resources and budgets
  • Developing operational management capability, systems and infrastructure
  • Ensuring contractual, legal, governance and legislative compliance.
