The Organisation

The Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) is the leading human rights organisation in our region. APF is a coalition of 25 national human rights institutions (NHRIs) across the Pacific, South East, South, North, Central, and West Asia. APF provides practical support and advice to its member institutions to help them to be as effective as possible.

The Role

You will be responsible for the administration of the APF’s finance and accounts. This includes managing and developing annual budgets, allocating donor contributions, future forecasting, and the preparation of all financial reporting for directors and project managers.

Your keen eye for detail and proven ability to achieve business results through forward thinking and initiative will be key to your success in this role. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential. Overall, you will be responsible for the management of;

  • financial budgets, plans, and forecasts
  • internal and external financial accounting and reporting
  • risk and compliance
  • financial infrastructure and systems
  • and contributing to the operation of the APF team

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Professional qualifications in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA or CA.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial/accounting experience, preferably with small to medium organisation, preferably NFP/CSO.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting systems ideally Xero, MYOB.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, and in particular MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of and experience with planning, budgeting/forecasting, and reporting.
  • Experience in quarter-end and year-end close.
  • Sound understanding of human resources.
  • The ability to communicate complex financial information to lay people.
  • Ability to manage competing demands, solve problems, and decision making.
  • Contribute to a high-performing environment through collaboration, open communication, and teamwork.
