The Organisation

Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) is the national peak body for the suicide prevention sector. SPA is a member-based organisation that’s guided by people with lived experience of suicide, counting amongst its members the largest and many of the smallest organisations working in suicide prevention, practitioners, researchers and community leaders.

SPA exists to provide a clear, collective voice for suicide prevention so that together lives can be saved and, through collaboration and shared purpose, works towards the ambition of a world without suicide.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Membership and Engagement, this critical position focuses on membership growth and retention through the development and implementation of strategies and campaigns to enhance member engagement and satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as first point of contact for existing and prospective members
  • Contribute to membership and partnership acquisition and retention
  • Form partnerships to introducing new revenue streams
  • Develop and implement membership engagement plans
  • Create and present member/associate value propositions
  • Maintain membership data, keep up to date records and provide regular reports

Skills Required

You have prior experience growing partnerships and membership engagement in member-based organisations, a peak body or similar and you have strong business development and stakeholder engagement skills. You have a passion for social impact and enjoy a dynamic working environment.

You will also have:

  • A demonstrated record of meeting and exceeding KPIs
  • The ability to work both “hands-on” and autonomously
  • Excellent administrative and data reporting skills
  • Skills in partnership cultivation to grow revenue streams
  • Experience using CRM Systems (CiviCRM highly regarded but not essential)
