The Organisation

ActionAid Australia is a global women’s rights organisation that empowers women on the frontlines of injustice to mobilise and transform their communities. ActionAid works in more than 45 countries. The offices are based in Surry Hills, a five minute walk from Central Station.

The Arise Fund was established to resource the ActionAid Federation’s vision to advance women’s rights and leadership in emergencies. It is a core part of ActionAid Australia’s (AAA) high value fundraising program and important in growing philanthropic and corporate partnerships.

The Roles

This is a fantastic time to join ActionAid Australia who are recruiting two Philanthropy and Partnership Specialists. Both of these positions are excellent opportunities to build your profile in philanthropy to grow new partnerships building upon an established portfolio of generous supporters.

You will play a significant role in creating and applying strategies to develop relationships with supporters and increase contributions from corporates, individuals, private foundations and other funding bodies. Stewardship will be a key part of the role as well as the development and implementation of ethical fundraising strategies to reach organisational goals.

Specifically you will be responsible for:

• Building relationships with donors, prospects and board members including direct solicitation
• Ensuring a rigorous move management process is in place, including monitoring of targets
• Supporting senior executives in development and management of key relationships
• Collaborating nationally to build a successful program and meet budgets in accordance with program objectives
• Producing and delivering proposals and communications using a range of channels and technologies

Skills Required

These positions would suit candidates who are looking to build on their current experience in philanthropy.

You may also have transferable skills coming from sales or account management with an interest in women’s rights and social justice or have studied a related subject.

You will have excellent oral and written skills, will enjoy building relationships and be motivated by achieving outcomes and KPIs.

Overall you have experience in:

• Securing significant donations from high net worth individuals
• Building long term high value corporate partnerships
• Asking for and closing gifts, sponsorships or sales
• Working with cross-functional teams and budget management
