The Organisation

Canteen is a highly regarded not for profit in Australia with one of the most recognisable campaigns – National Bandana Day. Canteen supports young people, 12 - 25 year olds, who are living with cancer, and is the only organisation of its kind in Australia.

Canteen works by having young people at the centre of everything they do. Initially established by a group of young cancer patients in 1985, the organisation continues in the mission to truly understand how cancer is different in a young person’s world through their leading edge research into the emotional and social impacts of cancer.

The Role

Entering the first year of the new 5-year organisational strategic plan, the Regular Giving Team is charged with sustaining the thriving regular giving program by nurturing 65,000 donors generating $25 Million a year to support Canteen’s mission. This position plays a crucial role in the Individual Giving Team, overseeing the acquisition and retention of regular givers. Additionally you will have responsibility for:

  • Donor journey development, analysis and delivery
  • Managing complex partnerships with suppliers and agencies
  • Project management of campaigns
  • Contributing to the overall innovation and strength of the regular giving program

Skills Required

You are an experienced fundraiser, loyalty or direct marketer with a record of managing multi-channel campaigns, external agencies and a career developed in the not for profit or commercial sectors. You have strong communication and analytical skills with an ability to meet targets and deadlines.

Your experience includes:

  • Agency, campaign and project management
  • Direct marketing or regular giving management
  • Enhancement of donor or customer retention
  • Supporter journey mapping and implementation
  • CRM management, data targeting and segmentation
  • Digital marketing, email automation and content development

You have a good knowledge of the donor or customer life-cycle and a personable approach for engaging and supporting suppliers. Notably, you enjoy and understand the importance of a positive team culture. Tertiary qualification in Marketing or a related field is highly regarded.
