This is a full-time position for a period of 12 months (possibility of extension). There will also be an opportunity to act in a more senior position for a period of 6 months during this time. Ideally you would be able to commence in early February 2022.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Service Co-ordinator is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of a number of NBCS’ services including Services Australia Agent Services, Community IT education and support activities, the school holiday program and other ad hoc events and activities as they arise.

These responsibilities include staff management and completing reporting and data gathering activities in accordance with funding and contract requirements.

The position also provides direct support to the Chief Executive Officer, keeping them abreast of emerging issues and opportunities and supporting the development of grant and tender applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • provide oversite and direction to staff providing Services Australia Agent Services including regular performance reviews and identifying opportunities for professional development
  • direct and manage staff in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legislation and the mission and values of the organisation
  • manage the rollout, delivery and reporting obligations of community IT support services and activities including Community Mentor Program and IT community events
  • manage the delivery of the holiday program including reporting obligations, identifying suitable events and activities and seeking funding opportunities
  • meet reporting and financial obligations across relevant funding areas
  • develop and support a workplace that is inclusive, accessible and supportive and promote the mission and values of the organisation
  • support the CEO to develop programs, grants and tenders in accordance with funding guidelines and the strategic direction of the organisation
  • support the CEO to update, review and develop policies and procedures across the service streams
  • identify emerging issues, service gaps and opportunities for growth
  • represent the organisation at network, agency and community events and activities

ROLE CAPABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with community members from a range of backgrounds and experiences
  • Ability to develop positive networks and relationships with organisations, government agencies and community members
  • Capability to proactively identify issues and emerging trends
  • Demonstrated understanding of the grant and tender process including identification, application and reporting requirements (specific experience in this is not required though highly desirable)
  • Clear understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and national and state standards or the ability to quickly attain this knowledge
  • Ability to meet tight timeframes and competing deadlines and to operate effectively in a complex and sometimes changing environment
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Two years experience in community services or similar sector
  • Current driver's license
  • Current Blue Card
  • Adhere to all State and Federal Government health directives as required
  • High proficiency in Microsoft suit including Outlook, Word and Excel
