We are responsible for assisting Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their lands and seas. Our vision is to ensure that Aboriginal people benefit socially, culturally and economically from the secure possession of their land, waters and seas.

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Caring for Country (CFC) Administration Officer, this position is responsible for providing general administrative and logistical support to the Caring for Country Branch to assist the Branch in achieving its program objectives and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day general administrative and operational support to the CFC Branch, including but not limited to coordination of travel, logistics, accommodation bookings, travel allowance (TA) and associated paperwork and approvals.
  • Assist in directing general enquiries into the Branch to the appropriate officers for action.
  • Assist in the distribution of incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring good records management practices are followed using TRIM.
  • Support the CFC Branch to implement and maintain accurate records management practices within various NLC systems ie. TRIM, Cost Recovery Management (CRM) and SAGE.

About you

To thrive in this role you will have:

  • Significant demonstrated knowledge, understanding and respect of Indigenous Australian culture, customs and society and the ability to gain and maintain credibility with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations to ensure all work produced and undertaken is culturally safe and appropriate.
  • Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent and/or relevant experience, in a similar role.
  • Proven experience within a similar administrative role with a demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in records and information management processes and systems.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people at all levels in a clear and concise manager.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Full-Time 3 year Contract
  • Location: Darwin
  • Salary: $56,509 - $60,712
  • Allowances
  • FBT exempt salary packaging benefits pay
  • 13% superannuation contribution
  • 5 weeks annual leave & 17.5% annual leave loading
