About the NLC

We are responsible for assisting Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their lands and seas. Our vision is to ensure that Aboriginal people benefit socially, culturally and economically from the secure possession of their land, waters and seas.

About the Role

This position will develop and implement information system in an accurate, timely and sustainable manner. The Software Developer is responsible for the design, build, test and integration of software components for new web applications.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, implement and manage a range of software products to support NLC operations effectively.
• Develop an advanced working knowledge and understanding of NLC’s application architecture in order to design, build and test improvements.
• Collaborate with service providers, solution architects, business analysts, UX designers and data analysts in building software that meets NLC’s needs.
• Analyse current information systems and document current state architectures to ensure quality enhancements.
• Deliver software according to NLC’s software quality standards

About you

To thrive in this role you will have:

• Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and respect of Indigenous Australian culture, customs and society and the ability to gain and maintain credibility with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations to ensure all work produced and undertaken is culturally safe and appropriate.
• Tertiary qualification in software development or related discipline or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
• Proven successful experience as a web app Software Developer with reusable web UI components based on the .NET Standard, eg C#, JavaScript, REST APIs, React, Blazor, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web Forms, etc.
• Extensive working knowledge of ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web Forms and REST APIs.
• Solid relational database skills and familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, or similar.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in problem-solving and coding with an attention to detail, and ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• An ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and respond to diverse stakeholders with respect in order to understand how to improve systems, processes and procedures.

Remuneration and Benefits:

• Full Time 1 year Fixed Term Contract
• Location: Darwin
• Salary: $73,342 - $84,253 per annum
• Allowances, e.g. district and airfare allowances
• FBT exempt salary packaging benefits pay
• 13% superannuation contribution
• 5 weeks annual leave & 17.5% annual leave loading
