about the role

North West Youth Accommodation Service (NWYAS) is seeking a part-time administration officer to provide support in the day-to-day and overall administrative functions of the service.

In addition to proven administration skills, candidates will ideally possess excellent interpersonal, collaboration, organisational and analytical skills. An important aspect of the role is also the provision of duties as secretariat to our Board.

In a dynamic environment such as youth housing, the role is suited to someone who is flexible, thinks strategically and has a commitment to social justice. Preferably, applicants will have an understanding of continuous improvement and best practice principles.

selection criteria

  • Ability to develop and/or maintain accurate and effective administrative systems
  • Ability to manage incoming and outgoing correspondence sometimes from multiple sources
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
  • High level written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Takes initiative and is proactive towards problem solving
  • Has a level of understanding and compassion for the needs of vulnerable young people and housing rights

While all suitable candidates will be considered, candidates with a human service background - particularly those looking to move from direct client support to administration will be highly regarded. Applications will be considered as received.
