NSW Stoma Pty Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the support of members who have undergone surgery resulting in a Colostomy, Ileostomy, Urostomy / Ileal Conduit or other external pouch procedure. We are a non-Government, self-help organisation, tasked with distributing stoma and related products on behalf of the Department of Health.

As a registered charity our primary focus is to support our members by:

  • Raising the standard of care and wellbeing for all ostomates
  • Providing information, education, encouragement and emotional support through our website, journal and our regional and urban information & education days
  • Funding a free clinic for members with our Stoma Nurse
  • Representing ostomates and advocating on their behalf to the government, both federal and state.
  • Additional assistance to members as required.

Reporting line: Deputy Manager and General Manager

Location: Unit 5, 7-29 Bridge Rd, Stanmore NSW 2049

Duties include:

  • Processing all payments (cash, cheques, credit cards, bank transfers) and allocating payments to customer accounts
  • Invoicing members and writing up receipts/thank you letters and recording all donations
  • Entering daily supplier invoices
  • Chasing up credit notes
  • Preparing and matching end-of-month supplier payments to monthly statements
  • Weekly supplier payment runs, ensuring payment terms are met and remittances issued
  • Weekly payroll processing and recording payroll journals
  • Emailing/printing pay slips
  • Month-end and year-end preparation working closely with the General Manager, including month-end bank reconciliations, petty cash reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
  • Resolution of issues and queries from customers in a professional and timely manner
  • Other ad hoc duties to support the team

Prerequisites:

  • Bookkeeping Experience or accounting qualification
  • Good Communication skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Australian Resident
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Compulsory successful police check
