About the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission

The Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission (NTLAC) is an independent statutory authority established under the Legal Aid Act 1990. Our purpose is to ensure that people in the Northern Territory understand their legal rights and disadvantaged people have access to quality legal services, and to uphold a fair Northern Territory and national justice system.

About the role

Under the supervision of the Managing Solicitor (REALS), the Solicitor will primarily undertake duties in the REALS Services.

About you

You are an experienced and dedicated solicitor who will provide a Duty Lawyer Service, for defendants to applications for a domestic violence order in the NT, at the Local Court in Darwin. Provide legal advice and support to assist clients of the service to engage with family law court processes safely and legal task assistance to clients to assist them to transition between, and manage across, the Commonwealth family law, NT family violence and NT child protection jurisdictions.
