Odyssey House Victoria (OHV) is a place of hope and positive change for individuals working towards breaking their pattern of addiction. OHV’s adult residential rehabilitation program at Lower Plenty provides live-in treatment for individuals, couples and parents with their children (aged 0-12 years old). Operating as a therapeutic community, the values-based program provides a structured environment where up to 143 residents and 30 staff work together to help people make changes and choices on their pathway to recovery.
Part of the Therapeutic Community (TC), a long-term residential program, the onsite Children’s Centre forms part of the specialized Family Services Program, offering a unique play and learning environment for the development of children aged 0-5 years and providing additional programs for children aged 6-12 after school and on school holidays, working closely in supporting resident families. The Centre provides childcare experiences tailored to meet the needs of individual children. The Centre is open Monday to Friday, and assists in providing an environment that is secure, and nurturing, and will support the safety, social and emotional wellbeing and developmental needs, and protection of all children.
We are looking for a driven and experienced leader to support the Family Services Team to maintain a trauma informed approach that is guided by Best Interest principles and delivers a high-quality program, demonstrating an awareness of the children and families from the alcohol and other drug sector.

The position is offered as a full time, 1.0 FTE, maximum term contract to 30 June 2024. The role is based at Lower Plenty.
The Family Services Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that all Team members have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the underlying principles, theories, and essential qualities of informed and considered practice of working with children and families within the Therapeutic Community (TC) environment.
