What this role involves 

As our Group Services Manager – Northern Region, you’ll work closely with our General Manager Services and a great team to deliver group learning and support services  at our campuses across Melbourne’s North. You will: 

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of group services, ensuring  these maximise engagement and deliver real outcomes for participants 
  • Be the go-to person for families and carers, prioritising clear communication and participant wellbeing 
  • Oversee intake and exit processes as people move in and out of the service 
  • Make sure we remain compliant with our obligations under funding arrangements and service agreements 
  • Lead and actively participate in projects to improve services, and drive continuous improvement within your team  

What we’re looking for in you 

To deliver what we need in this role, you will be: 

  • An exceptional leader and mentor, who sets the standards for your team by the way you work yourself 
  • Committed to putting people at the centre of everything you do 
  • Dedicated to innovative service delivery and quality outcomes 
  • A strong communicator, with excellent  written and verbal communication skills 
  • Adept at resolving conflict, managing complaints, and supporting positive behaviour 
  • A problem-solver, who can identify creative solutions to challenging issues 
  • An experienced project manager who is comfortable managing change 
  • A multi-tasker who can set priorities, meet timelines and manage competing demands. 

You will also have: 

  • The right qualifications: a relevant tertiary qualification. If you have a management qualification or are working towards one, that’s even better. 
  • Some relevant experience: At least three (3) years managing teams in the disability sector or another similar sector  
  • Knowledge and understanding: You’ll know the essential principles of the Disability Services Act 2006, the NDIS and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards standards. Plus, you’ll have experience upholding quality safeguards for people with a disability, and a sound knowledge of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights.
