The Role:

The UX/UI Designer role is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the Product Management Lead role. The role will be based at the OpenSolar office (Broadway). OpenSolar is a BYOD organisation.

The primary objective of the role is to design seamless user experiences and user interfaces. The role will be responsible for building wireframes, mockups, prototypes and finished designs. One of the key success factors for this role is the ability to understand our users and their requirements.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Deliver an outstanding UI by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimised for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Identify design problems and effective solutions.
  • Participate in strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new functions and features.
  • Adopt a user-centred design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Work effectively with a highly collaborative Global product team.

What you’ll need:

  • A passion for UX and UI Design and building digital products.
  • A minimum of 2 years UX design experience.
  • An excellent portfolio of mobile and web design projects.
  • Fluency in responsive design, mobile/tablet UX UI.
  • Ability to work with team members/customers to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that align to the requirements.
  • Experience in UX design best practices to design solutions, and a good understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and customers.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of user-centred design and design thinking.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team.
  • A passion for resolving user issues via great design.
  • Knowledge of agile and scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Diverse product exposure across scale up environments.
  • A love for clean energy!
