The Opportunity

  • Temporary Full-Time position (maternity leave cover - 12 months)
  • Liverpool / Darlinghurst Areas
  • Salary Packaging - up to $9,010 per year

Reporting to the Open Support Operations Manager, you will have a pivotal role in the ongoing management and growth of the Open Support Community Connections Program as well as taking a lead role in guiding the program’s direction in relation to addressing social isolation and loneliness in the community.

Your skills in managing and leading teams will be vitally important in maintaining a culture of collaboration and effective team work across the Community Connections Program. As a person with extensive experience and knowledge in the community services sector, you will ensure that all service provision is delivered within a client centred and trauma informed framework. You will also have a solid understanding of intersecting issues such as mental health, age and disability impact a person’s social connection and an appreciation of how this can be applied to program delivery. You will have thorough understanding of risk management and how to apply this across a range of service delivery settings and modalities.

As you will be responsible for the ongoing development and growth of the community connections program, your strong focus on program evaluation and outcome measurement will be highly relevant.

Your networking and relationship building capabilities will also be required to form and maintain effective relationships and to establish formal and informal partnerships with external providers and other key stakeholders in order to improve and develop service delivery in line with key strategic objectives including:

  • Individuals are supported to establish and maintain meaningful social connections with community leading to a reduction in social isolation and increased wellbeing
  • Increased capacity to assist a greater number of clients
  • Achieving strong program outcomes at individual and community levels
  • Improved collaboration with healthcare and other community organisations
