Your new job

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Access Team Clinician will be well supported operationally and clinically to provide high quality, early intervention intake and assessment services to young people, their families/carers and community professional/agencies.

You will

  • Have a direct role in the engagement, assessment and coordination of care for young people accessing services at headspace Sunshine
  • Assist in the referral of young people to appropriate programs (including research interventions) either within the headspace Sunshine or other community agencies
  • Participate in community awareness raising activities that promote early help-seeking for mental health and substance use problems in young people
  • Make decisions, problem solve, and risk manage, in relation to conducting intake and assessments and determining a young people’s suitability for ongoing treatment/support services at the centre

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health outcomes for young people.

In addition, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing
  • Full registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration with AASW
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to determine and plan for a young person’s recovery and support needs, employing a shared-decision making approach
  • Extensive experience in the planning and provision of mental health care
  • Demonstrated capacity to problem solve effectively and work creatively with young people, particularly within an early intervention framework
