Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP), a program of Melbourne Health, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 15 to 24 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness.

The Early Psychosis Stream is searching for an experienced clinician who can provide specialist interventions and leadership to a clinical team and influence service development at local, national and international levels. This is a new senior role, developed in response to service growth and innovation.

The Early Psychosis clinical stream consists of the EPPIC and PACE programs. The Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC) provides an early intervention service for young people presenting with symptoms of first episode psychosis. The Personal Assessment and Crisis Evaluation (PACE) program focuses on young people with an at-risk mental state, this may extend beyond attenuated or brief psychotic symptoms to include anxiety, depressive, personality disorder or substance misuse.

Your new role:

  • A key leadership position responsible for the provision of clinical leadership, management, training and supervision of a multidisciplinary team
  • Specialises in the provision of comprehensive case management and psychological interventions to clients attending EPS, including, EPPIC and PACE Clinical Streams.
  • Responsible for the provision of clinical leadership, management, training and supervision of a multidisciplinary team specialising in the provision of comprehensive case management and psychological interventions to clients
  • These clients are young people who are at ultra-high risk (UHR) of developing a psychotic illness or experiencing a first episode of psychosis

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health outcomes for young people. In addition, you will bring:

  • Substantial previous experience in clinical practice within the mental health field, including young people experiencing mental health disorders
  • A proven ability to manage and lead a multidisciplinary team; manage staff resources and ensure high standards of practice
  • Specialist knowledge is required in one or more clinical interventions such as psychological, family, domestic violence, Alcohol and Drug, Physical Health, Ultra-High Risk for psychosis, Neurodevelopmental and Eating Disorders interventions, etc.
  • Experience and expertise in providing case management
