Your new team

Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP), a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital, provides mental health services to young people aged 15-25 and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.

Our Eating Disorders team partners with young people, families/carers and the wider Orygen teams to provide evidence-based best practice eating disorder assessments and interventions, primary and secondary consultations and assisting young people with mental ill health who are also experiencing eating disorders.

Your new role:

This opportunity is open to Grade 2 and Grade 3 Dietitians, with options to work part-time and full-time. As our services continue to expand, there will be opportunities to be involved in training, research and service development. In this role, you will:

  • Plan, develop and implement service plans, monitor physical health, dietary management, risk assessments and diagnostic formulation in collaboration with the multidisciplinary eating disorders team.
  • Provide primary and secondary dietetic case consultation, training and supervision to clinicians to support best practice in treatment, care management for mental health clients across the service.
  • Partner with young people and their families/carers to provide evidence-based care in community and bed-based settings.
  • Provide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA backgrounds

About You:

  • Significant clinical experience in the dietetic and multidisciplinary treatment for young people experiencing mental health issues, including eating disorders, in inpatient, subacute and community / outpatient treatment.
  • Experience in the development and facilitation of group-based interventions.
  • Experience in the provision of professional supervision, education and training for health professionals.
  • Skills in program planning and service development.
