Your new job

You will be responsible for defining, developing, implementing and leading a new statewide program for Orygen, that will provide quaternary youth mental health services across Victoria. These programs (Quaternary and Statewide Model Development: SWMD) will provide additional regional and rural service system supports, specialised secondary consultation and models of care to youth mental health providers across the public health system.

You will:

  • Establish and oversee a multidisciplinary team, associated resources and budget
  • Lead the design, development, consultation, implementation and evaluation of new youth mental health service models and an inpatient model for youth aged 12-25 years
  • Engage extensively with regional, rural and metropolitan youth mental health services across Victoria to understand a range of stakeholder needs for specialised clinical services and innovation in models of care
  • Refresh the business model of the Parkville Hub and align with the provision of quaternary services, leveraging off the resources and opportunities that already exist
  • Support the principles and practices of lived experience in co-design
  • Promote a workplace culture that is safe, diverse and inclusive.

What you’ll need

You are an experienced and innovative leader from the health sector, who embraces a consultative approach to service model design and values lived experience co-design principles and practice.

You are passionate, energetic, innovative and determined to make a difference to the mental health outcomes of young people.

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing)
  • Extensive experience as a senior leader (at an operational and strategic level) in the health sector, ideally specific to youth mental health
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management, large-scale consultation and engagement processes
  • Experience managing and leading multidisciplinary teams that deliver high standards of practice.
  • Demonstrated skills in designing or re-designing organisational structures and fit-for-purpose operating models.
