Are you passionate about shaping the future of mental health support for consumers? As our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) continues to expand, we are on the lookout for a dynamic and motivated Peer Work/Lived Experience Trainer to join our team - use your experience as a peer support or lived experience worker to teach and inspire upcoming peer support workers.

In this pivotal role you will:

  • Bring your experience as a mental health peer support/lived experience worker to the course content to deliver engaging learning content for the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.
  • Provide teaching and learning support as required to ensure students’ satisfactory course progress.
  • Participate in quality improvements of the course design and delivery.
  • Participate and work with team members in the validation of assessment tools and moderation of student outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the workforce development team to develop and deliver projects and training packages as required.
  • Ensure professional development is continuously maintained for industry and VET currency.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Qualification in Training and Assessment equivalent to Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), or willingness to complete the course or any upgrade required.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in lived experience peer work in mental health.
  • Knowledge of peer work models and peer workforce issues in youth mental health.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

What you’ll get in return

  • Salary between $73,804 - $91,587 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience + 11.5% super + NFP salary packaging up to $15,900.

This is a part time (0.6 FTE) position for 12 months.
