About the role

Working within the newly established Innovation Directorate, this position will lead the high-performance Project Design, Strategy and Growth team to establish and manage the infrastructure of new projects coming into the organisation. This agile, special purpose team will work quickly to support the CEO, Executive Team, Manager Fundraising and Partnerships and Project Managers to design proposals, respond to new opportunities, and create and set up the infrastructure for new projects before the work is handed over to the Our Watch Project Management Office or relevant Directorate. The team will get projects up and running quickly, clarify assumptions and address issues early. This could include the development of project proposals, risk, budget and strategy.

This team may be asked to provide additional support on particularly complex or high-risk projects as needed or at specific moments in time. This team may also support scoping, evidence review and research into new or shifting projects and campaigns, as well as share insights and learning across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director, Innovation this important leadership role will be integral in the establishment phase of the Innovation Directorate, including embedding new processes, systems and culture, including the Our Watch Project Management strategy. During the establishment phase, this role may be asked to lead strategic pieces of work to support the development of the new Directorate.

About you

We are looking for an experienced leader with significant experience in project design, development, proposal and tender writing, and team management. You are an effective communicator and able to work confidently with senior stakeholders. You will have excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving and partnership development skills and are enthusiastic about nurturing collaborative relationships across the organisation, and externally including corporates, government departments and other agencies.
