About the role

The Innovation Directorate is responsible for overseeing multiple, overlapping projects which develop new and innovative knowledge, practices and strategies that build the evidence base around what works to prevent violence against women.

Reporting to the Director, Innovation, this important leadership role will be integral in the establishment phase of the Innovation Directorate, this position will join our team as PMO (Project Management Office) and Innovation Manager. The role will oversee a high-performance team responsible for establishing the Innovation Directorate as a centre for excellence for Project Management with a strong focus on supporting consistency around the design, delivery, and evaluation of projects.

This role will be responsible for shaping and ensuring the uptake, implementation and embedding of the Our Watch Project Management Framework through training, capacity building, coaching and mentoring.

This role will support and manage a team that will support day to day activities of the PMO as well as provide advice, guidance and support on policies, processes, standards, templates, tools, approaches and best practices across all projects as needed. The PMO and Innovation team will support staff across the organisation to use consistent methodologies and practice, provide tools, and house a repository for project documentation and lessons learnt.

Other key functions of this role include supporting and mentoring specialist Lead roles to embed and support a consistent approach to policy, partnerships, intersectionality and innovation across the team and organisation.

This role will also promote and guide knowledge management strategies across the Directorate for all project documentation, lessons learnt and the sharing of knowledge while doing the work. This may include identifying strategies to capture, validate and facilitate learning after significant projects. This role is also responsible for monitoring the effectiveness and maintenance of Project Management tools and systems and implementing improvements as needed.

About you

You will be an experienced leader and have significant project management experience, strong stakeholder engagement and partnership skills, and staff management skills. Key to the success of this role will be the ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with other Managers and project leads across the Innovation Directorate and within the wider organisation.
