About the role

Working within the newly established Innovation Directorate, this position will support the delivery of a project to develop a framework for the prevention of violence against women with disability. The role will support and contribute to the development of new and innovative knowledge, practices and strategies that build the evidence base for the organisation to continue its work in primary prevention of violence against women with disability.

Under the direction of the Project Lead and working closely with the Senior Policy Advisor, this role will support all aspects of the project management cycle from design, through to implementation and review. This role will support with project administration, documentation, reporting, evaluation and monitoring as needed. The project will have a strong focus on collaborating and partnering with organisations by and for women with disabilities.

You will ideally have experience in project management and some project budget experience, stakeholder engagement skills, and familiarity with the primary prevention of violence against women.

Lived experience of disability and/or experience working on gender and disability programs is highly desirable.

About you

You will be accountable for building strong and trusted relationships with key project partners, engaging, communicating and consulting withexternal stakeholders, and for identifying, managing and, where necessary, escalating emerging risks and urgent issues to the project lead.

You will develop and nurture effective collaborative relationships across the organisation and with key internal and external stakeholders including staff in government departments and agencies, and proactively contribute to the team and organisational improvement projects.

In particular, you will work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders including Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) and the national peak body for women with disabilities, Women with Disabilities Australia (WWDA).
