About the role

  • Working within the newly established Innovation Directorate, this position will oversee and deliver multiple, concurrent, innovative projects, developing new and emergent knowledge, practices and strategies to build the evidence base for the organisation to continue its work in the primary prevention of violence against women.

  • The Innovation Directorate will consist of flexibly resourced, high-performance project teams that will run projects end to end, to ensure smooth delivery of multiple overlapping projects and campaigns.

  • Reporting to the Project Manager, Innovation, this role will contribute to delivering the Our Watch strategic plan, with a specific focus on leading all aspects of project management of large-scale prevention projects. You may be allocated to different projects over time, depending on resourcing, but the initial focus will be on developing innovative projects from the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032.

  • Working with colleagues in the Innovation Directorate and across the organisation, this position will oversee all elements of the project management cycle including design, planning, budgeting, resource identification, task and activity monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and overall project delivery against defined objectives, methods and outcomes.

About you

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the prevention of violence against women, a deep understanding of cultural change in organisations in relation to gender equality, as well as the ability to look at the regulatory environment and determine elements the project should focus on and then do the work to engage at that level. You will have sophisticated communications skills and confidence in engaging a broad range of stakeholders from different settings and maintain strong and productive relationships with project partners and funders. You will be able to work independently, in partnership with others external to Our Watch, and as part of a multidisciplinary project team. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Innovation to support the embedding of new processes and systems to build project management capability across the team.
