About the role

Working within the newly established Innovation Directorate, this position will oversee and deliver multiple, concurrent, innovative projects, developing new and emergent knowledge, practices and strategies to build the evidence base for the organisation to continue its work in the primary prevention of violence against women. Reporting to the Director, Innovation, this important leadership role will be responsible for managing and overseeing large-scale primary prevention projects, with an initial focus on developing innovative projects from the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032. Joining the organisation’s leadership at this time also provides an exciting opportunity to create impact through new processes, systems and culture in the establishment phase of the Innovation Directorate, including the Our Watch Project Management Strategy. The role will oversee flexibly resourced, high-performance project teams to ensure the smooth management and delivery of concurrent projects and campaigns. A key priority of this role is to develop, evaluate and translate evidence generated by the Innovation Directorate’s projects, and to facilitate knowledge-sharing across the organisation, which can in turn adopt, implement and communicate at scale.

About you

We are looking for an experienced, energetic leader with strong project management skills, evidenced through the successful delivery of a range of projects and campaigns and productive teams. You are an effective communicator with significant experience managing multiple partners and stakeholders, and are enthusiastic about nurturing collaborative relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders including government departments and agencies. You are familiar with action research methodologies and evidence-based resource development, and confident to be responsible to identify, manage and, where necessary, escalate risks and urgent issues.
