About the role

Working within the newly established Innovation Directorate, this position will support a key project that seeks to develop new and innovative knowledge, practices and strategies that build the evidence base on what works to prevent violence against women.

Working on the Evidenced-based Framework for Women with Disability project. Building on Changing the Landscape you will be responsible for leading the development of an evidence-based, action-oriented primary prevention framework for women and girls with disability. The framework is to set out the issues and gaps that underpin violence against women with a disability and to inform practical and evidence-based actions.

Reporting to the Project Manager, Innovation and working in partnership with the Project Lead, Project Advisor, key partner organisations, and stakeholders this role will include;

  • Include undertaking desktop reviews to inform new project development to ensure there is a clear picture of priorities, policy, funding frameworks and policy levers

  • Oversee the development = of fit-for-purpose action-orientated framework/s which will include short, medium and long term practical actions and priorities for governments, policymakers and key stakeholders including identifying responsibilities for actions and examples and guidance to support the implementation of the actions;

  • Engage and work with partner organisations

  • Design, develop and undertake a thorough consultation process with key stakeholders including Commonwealth and state and territory governments, peak bodies and additional consultation with women with disabilities building on work undertaken to develop Changing the Landscape

About you

The successful candidate will have a strong policy background coupled with a detailed understanding of the prevention of violence against women evidence base, a deep understanding of cultural change in organisations in relation to gender equality, as well as the ability to look at the regulatory environment and determine elements the project should focus on and then do the work to engage at that level. You will have sophisticated writing and communications skills, policy expertise and confidence in engaging a broad range of stakeholders from multiple settings.
