About the role

Working within the Prevention in Action directorate, this position will work collaboratively to engage and support sports organisations and leaders to take action to prevent of violence against women. This role will contribute to delivering on the Our Watch strategic plan, with a specific focus on engaging with key stakeholders including national and state sporting organisations, elite clubs, athletes and leaders from across professional and amateur sports as well as sports journalists. Working closely with other staff within Our Watch, the role will provide practice expertise in the development, dissemination and integration of high-quality training, tools and resources to support the growth of primary prevention activity among sporting organisations across Australia. As well as leading the development of an annual strategy to prioritise and target Our Watch’s efforts in driving prevention in the sport setting, this role will ensure continuous improvement of the Equality and Respect in Sport website, tools and resources.

About you

You will have strong knowledge of prevention of violence against women, a deep understanding of cultural change in organisations in relation to gender equality and experience working in or alongside sports organisations and leaders to support change initiatives. You will have sophisticated communications skills and confidence engaging a broad range of stakeholders from corporate to community environments. You will also have experience in developing and maintaining key relationships, as well as facilitating training and capacity development activities. You will be able to work independently, in partnership with others external to Our Watch, and as part of a collaborative internal team.
