Our TFCO story so far…

OzChild began delivering TFCO in Australia in 2017. Starting in Victoria with one team we are now delivering the program in NSW and QLD with five teams on the ground across the three states. The program supports children and young people aged 7-17, who are at risk of, or currently living in residential care facilities.

Due to the successful outcomes being achieved we have now expanded delivery of the program into South Australia to support young people aged 12-17 years (TFCO-A).

The Job

Are you a creative, mission-focused, problem-solving, team player who wants to be on the cutting edge of transforming the child welfare system in South Australia?

As the Skills Coach on an exceptionally motivated team of professionals implementing Treatment Foster Care of Oregon (TFCO), a highly acclaimed, evidence-based intervention, you will make the difference in the lives of children and their families.

What will you do?

  • Work with children and youth, ages 12-17 years, with behavioural challenges to provide a consistent, reinforcing environment in which pro-social skills are learned and practiced.
  • Work closely with a positive, solution-oriented and supportive team
  • Work with highly trained professional foster parents
  • Solve problems, using your creativity and sense of humour
  • Ensure this behavioural model is delivered with fidelity
  • Transform the lives of children and families

What we ask for:

  • Experience in Youth Work, Education or Sport would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of behaviour management principles
  • Skill building and training experience, specifically with young people
  • Current driving license (essential)
  • Ability to engage young people in activities
