Stepping Stones to School Facilitator - Warrnambool

We have an exciting opportunity for a Stepping Stones to school facilitator based in our Warrnambool Office. This position is fixed term for 12 months however with a view to be extended for a further two years. We will also welcome those who wish to work part time as well.

Stepping Stones To School (SS2S) aims to reduce the barriers to successful transitions through early years education settings which are often experienced by ‘at risk’ children in vulnerable family settings. This position will work collaboratively with a cross section of community stakeholders and organisations to drive the scoping, development and delivery of this program through the establishment of steering committees, Early Years transition networks, and an agreed Transition To School Protocol. The service is delivered across 4 shires including Moyne, Corangamite, Glenelg and Southern Grampians. The position is based in Warrnambool and reports to the Early Years Team Leader. This position will work directly with vulnerable children and their families to increase the families readiness for the child to enter early years education settings and where necessary refer children and families to appropriate early intervention services

Qualifications Essential

Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent, Social Work qualification, or a relevant discipline that is recognised in Australia. Diploma level with extensive experience in Early years’ service provision may be considered.

Experience working in the Early Years and / or with vulnerable families with young children.

Desirable

Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education, Social Work or a relevant discipline that is recognised in Australia.

Experience working using community development and collective impact methodology and project work in community and education settings.

Experience working in and with Indigenous communities and families is desirable.
