About the branch

The Marketing, Communications and Partnerships Division oversees all marketing, tourism, visitor experience, partnership experience, digital, media, communications and public relations activities to support Parks Victoria. 

The focus of the Communications and Public Affairs team is to establish and represent Parks Victoria’s brand and public reputation, through effective engagement as well as public, community, partnership, corporate communications, media relations, and reputational management. 

About the role and your responsibilities:  

The Project Officer Engagement is responsible for delivering and reporting on the engagement and supporting communications for the Economic Stimulus program to support Parks Victoria-led initiatives. 

Working across project teams and with project partners, you will deliver leading practice engagement strategies and plans that focus on clear and timely program negotiables, areas for stakeholder influence around campground upgrades, trails and tracks, new parks and facilities upgrades, as well as celebrating and communicating key milestones and program achievements. You will be responsible for designing and executing a range of engagement activities including workshops, focus groups, community opens days, site tours and the coordination of an online engagement presence via the Victorian Government’s online consultation platform, Engage Victoria. 

To be successful for this role you will need: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences, Environmental Science and/or Communications, or demonstrated extensive experience in this field is essential.
  • Practical experience in designing and delivering leading practice engagement and processes to inform decision making, taking into consideration and managing diverse stakeholder views and expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic engagement and communications plans.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience preparing consultation reports, community updates and stakeholder bulletins, and input into media assets.
  • A current Employee Working with Children check
