This position works within the Family Violence Team with the aim to provide services to those who have experienced or are affected by family violence or are at risk of being unsafe in the family environment. The target group includes those for whom family violence contributes to circumstances that threaten, or adversely affect the adequacy, safety, security and affordability of housing and maintenance of the family environment. This target group also includes those who are no longer in abusive relationships, those who are currently in an abusive relationship and those who have not previously accessed police or crisis services for family violence related matters.

The Support Worker will provide education, information, short term supportive counselling, advocacy and referrals within the required local, state and national guidelines and frameworks. The service areas for this position include Greater Shepparton and Moira.
