The Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre (ACSC) based at Peter Mac is seeking a motivated Project Officer with a background in oncology to join our team. This is a full time, fixed term role.

The Project Officer, Survivorship will support delivery of the ‘Embed and spread cancer survivorship care across Victoria’ project, funded by the Victorian Government. The Embed and spread project consists of two overlapping projects, to increase sector capacity in survivorship care. This position will support deliverables primarily relating to project 1, including webinar delivery to select Victorian health services, survey administration and implementation support for a small number of health services to enhance their survivorship practices.

You will be required to work closely with the project lead and have capacity to travel to regional Victoria if required. You will need effective project management, communication and education skills. A proven ability to problem-solve and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team is important, as is the ability to manage timelines.

Essential:

• Tertiary qualification in healthcare, education, public policy or related field
• High level communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
• Experience in cancer control programs, cancer policy or cancer care
• Demonstrated experience supporting and managing projects
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to determine priorities
• Understanding of change management and experience in implementing change e.g. quality improvement project or similar
• Demonstrated ability to write reports
• Ability to coordinate and deliver education initiatives to health professionals
• Willingness to travel to Victorian cancer service sites

Desirable:

• Knowledge of survivorship care, including: resources, models of care, survivorship care plans, the Victorian Cancer Survivorship Program)
• Experience with social media and communications platforms e.g. twitter, mailchimp
