About the role

The Senior Grants Manager will lead the Grants team undertaking grant and contract management for the Programs department.

They will provide key strategic advice to the Programs Management Team on the status of the portfolio and of future opportunities.

Qualifications and experience required

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree, postgraduate qualification in development studies/business/finance/law or a related area highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Leadership ability and able to coach and mentor junior staff
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft Office programs particularly advanced skills in Excel
  • Ability to liaise with a wide range of people, both internally and externally and at many levels, with credibility, tact and diplomacy; work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Solid financial analysis and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Ability to lead on strategic stakeholder management Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in grant and contract management, experience with DFAT grants essential
  • Demonstrated experience in donor compliance and reporting, and proposal development
  • Solid experience in international development at a senior level and preferably field-based experience
