About the role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Corporate Partnerships and Grants Manager will be a key contributor to POTH’s fundraising strategy, managing existing corporate partnerships and grants portfolio, while developing new, mutually beneficial partnerships, in line with the organisational strategy.

This role will research and develop a strong pipeline of corporate partners, trusts and foundations, and other philanthropic organisations, to generate strong and sustainable revenue streams for POTH reinforce favourable brand strength, and build the POTH stakeholder value proposition. They will also manage and grow the existing partnerships by strengthening relationships and identifying creative new opportunities to work together.

Key Position Tasks

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Research, identify, build and maintain a pipeline of potential business partners, ensuring relationships are continually progressed through the pipeline as new connections are formed
  • Manage and retain the portfolio of current partners to ensure mutually beneficial relationships and identification of additional opportunities to work together and encourage renewal and growth
  • Work closely with the Fundraising Manager on the prospecting, identification, cultivation, conversion and stewardship of high value donors and philanthropic foundations to drive income generation and growth for POTH
  • Write and create partnership proposals and flyers
  • Coordinate all partner returns, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and maintain accurate contract, relationship and income records
  • Analyse and report partnership achievements to partners and CEO
  • Collaborate with POTH team members to engage partners in activations that build the strength of POTH service and solutions
  • Source grants, write grant submissions and secure grants that align with the POTH strategy
  • Prepare grant reports for CEO
  • Maintain accurate grant requirement delivery records
  • Attend presentations and public events on POTH’s behalf as required

Key Selection criteria

You’re passionate about making a difference to the lives of marginalised and vulnerable people and their beloved companion animals. You think outside of the box and aren’t afraid to present ideas, solutions and new concepts that will help POTH grow.

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role:
    • At least 3+ year prior experience working in a business partnerships role in a not-for-profit organisation, or similar experience in a sales/business development role
    • Proven track record of success
    • Experience in negotiating, securing, developing, maintaining and delivering financial and in-kind partnerships
    • Experience in researching and applying for grants
    • A lived understanding of sponsorship and fundraising market dynamics, trends and solutions
  • Strong understanding of partnership agreements and drafting and editing MOUs
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading skills for proposals, presentations and reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic, develop trust and maintain strong relationships with partners
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently demonstrating appropriate levels of initiative
  • A strong team ethic and a willingness to assist in other areas

Additional information

  • This full-time position is based in Melbourne, at POTH's HQ office in Cheltenham and flexible working arrangements are available
