About the opportunity

Primary Health Tasmania has an exciting opportunity for a Health Research and Evaluation Officer to join its Program Strategy and Performance team, based in our Hobart office.

The Health Research and Evaluation Officer provides high level research and evaluation support to the team, including the Public Health Physician, Public Health Medical Officer, and Clinical Epidemiologists.  

Here’s what you’ll do

Your work will include the application of health research and program evaluation principles to undertake Primary Health Tasmania’s program monitoring and evaluation projects. 

This will include:

  • Providing project and administrative support for projects led by the team
  • Quantitative and qualitative data collection, data management, analysis and synthesis of information on key health performance indicators and reporting of same
  • Literature reviews including performing scientific database searches, retrieving and reviewing relevant literature to inform health system improvement program development and evaluation
  • Preparing written materials such as briefing documents, reports, submissions and other resources as required for use internally and for sharing externally

Here’s what you’ll look like

  • You’ll have, or have substantial progress towards, a relevant tertiary qualification, or significant relevant skills and experience
  • You’ll have advanced computer skills, including MS Office suite and related level databases
  • You’ll have great analytical and research skills and ability to undertake health program research and evaluation activities within developed protocols
  • You’ll have capacity to work effectively and flexibly as part of a cohesive team to support organisational achievement
  • You’ll be a culture champion – understanding that every day, you play an important part of what makes Primary Health Tasmania a great place to work
