The role is in the family home in Perth’s northern suburbs and out in the community. Gabby needs someone to build and lead a support team for her and ensure the daily work of the team is managed effectively so her life runs smoothly. This is mainly an administration focused role but will include regular direct support work with Gabby.

Your employer will be Gabby and her family. They are experienced employers with appropriate insurances, policies and procedures. Team members are well supported.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Collaborate to create and report on annual plans with quarterly goals that work towards achieving the vision for Gabby’s awesome life.
  • Manage, coordinate and provide support around aspects of Gabby’s daily life.
  • Manage the recruitment, induction, training, rostering and support of a small team of staff to provide 24/7 care, including staff performance and welfare.
  • Ensure all compliance measures are being met.
  • Budget, timesheet and invoice management.
  • Provide direct support to Gabby to complete all aspects of her daily life including personal care, cleaning, cooking, community access and swimming.
  • Be always attentive while working with Gabby and willing to work long term to build a strong relationship with her.
  • Manage and use her alternative communication methods.

Desired level of knowledge, skills and experience

  • Effective leadership skills to build and support a cohesive happy team.
  • Outstanding coordination and training skills.
  • High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, Podio, Myob or other rostering/finance systems.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety compliance.
  • Strong administration skills – reporting, managing rosters, budgets and invoices.
  • Clearly spoken English.
  • Exceptional listening, reading, communication and observation skills –with the ability to recognise and interpret non-verbal cues.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in disability services but not essential.

  • Qualifications and experience in disability may be useful, but not essential.

Other requirements

  • Current clean unrestricted C Class WA Driver’s Licence
  • Be over 25 years of age to drive Gabby’s car
  • National Police Clearance or NDIS Worker Screening ]
  • Working With Children Check ] or willing to obtain them
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate ]
  • Be vaccinated against Whooping Cough ]
  • Non smoker

Hours of Work and Remuneration

This is a part-time role working 35 hours per week. (app 23hrs Admin, 12 hrs Direct Support to Gabby). The roster is 24/7 including day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts. The ability to work a variety of shifts is desirable, but not essential. Flexible working conditions are available.

The position will be a 6-month fixed term contract with the likely possibility of extension. You will be paid a competitive remuneration between $31 and $36 per hour ($56,000-$65,000pa) according to your qualifications and experience. Superannuation, sick leave and annual leave will also be included.
