Professional Individualised Care

We offer an opportunity to:

  • Work one-on-one with young people
  • Run self-developed and directed projects
  • Flexible travel and creative work

ABOUT US

Professional Individualised Care (PIC) is a newly formed for-purpose organisation providing out-of-home care for vulnerable young people. The Individual Social Pedagogy model of care used by PIC is based on a German model that has been delivering successful outcomes for young people for more than 30 years.

What we do

The PIC model places one young person with one Professional Therapeutic Carer (PTC). Our carers have industry-recognised qualifications and extensive professional work experience, plus a desire to work in a range of flexible and non-standard environments that can best provide a ‘whole of life' response to the complex needs and the care of a young person. Our PTCs are paid an equivalent full-time salary. By programming highly enriched environments for the young person, and with good support for the PTC, real relationships and best practice therapeutic work can take place.

The Role

As a Travel Project Specialist (TPS) at PIC, your role is to plan and deliver travel projects (typically 4-12 weeks) that are individually tailored to reflect the needs and aspirations of the young person you will be working with. During the project, the TPS has an opportunity to build a therapeutic relationship with the young person by exploring a range of experiences and resulting conversations. Observations and professional reflections made by the TPS are used to produce an assessment report that informs future care options for the young person.

Travel Project Specialists enjoy a high degree of autonomy and creative freedom in the planning and delivery of supports and programs.
