Project Respect is a support and referral service for women in the sex industry, including women who have experienced trafficking. We assist women one-on-one, create a safe community and advocate for women’s rights. We exist because women matter. We are a non-profit, feminist, community-based organisation.

About the Role

In leading the organisation, you will drive ongoing transformational change, informed by women with lived experience, evidence-based practice, and the opportunities presented by the external social and political environment (local/ global). The role will continue to build on the extraordinary legacy of Project Respect to amplify the voices of the women we work with, both within Project Respect and beyond, and advocating to address systemic sexual exploitation and violence against women in the sex industry.

The role requires you to be a strong leader with both strategic and operational skills and experience. You will manage the day-to-day program and services, people and culture, financial and compliance requirements while representing Project Respect and empowering others to advocate.

Please note, it is not critical that you have experience as an ED/CEO level to apply for this role. 

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Be an inspirational leader with excellent interpersonal skills and cultural competency skills with ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Think strategically to support the delivery of program outcomes, with solid experience in operating in changing political and social environments.
  • The ability to think innovatively with clear analytical frameworks.
  • Have experience in working in an intersectional feminist framework with a clear understanding of the operating environment and capacity to remain across new and emerging trends in the sector.
  • Have excellent stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to negotiate, advocate, and influence internal and external partners, with exceptional skills in building and developing relationships for the benefit of women in the sex industry, including women who have experienced trafficking.
  • Develop and implement growth financial strategies with clear understanding of short, medium and long-term goals.
  • Have experience in managing remote, diverse teams including, staff, students and volunteers.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing dynamic work environment including ensuring appropriate compliance, quality, support and leadership.

You can access flexible working arrangements and generous salary packaging options that can increase your take home pay by paying certain expenses using pre-tax dollars up to $15,900 a year.

Remuneration Package

The total remuneration package includes an annual salary of circa $120,000 plus employer superannuation guarantee at 10 % and access to salary packaging. Starting salary will be negotiated based on experience and skills and will be reviewed annually, including full private use of a vehicle.
