About the Role

In this role, you’ll support our team in delivering key projects, including:

  • The Disability Housing Information Line, which provides advice and information to people living in Supported Accommodations, their supporters, and providers.
  • The Disability Housing Advocacy Service, which helps SDA residents access vital advocacy services.
  • The Disability Advocacy Futures Education Project, offering advocacy support to students with disabilities in public schools.

You’ll be involved in outreach, workshops, intake requests, maintaining client databases, and other vital project management tasks
This role is funded for one year, with a possibility of extension dependent on funding.

About You

  • You have experience working with people with disability, preferably in a client engagement role
  • You have experience working in service promotion or networking roles
  • You have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to engage with and maintain a network of key stakeholders
  • You have a good understanding of supported accommodations including Group Homes, Specialist Disability Accommodations (SDAs) and Supported Independent Living (SILs)
  • You have previous experience working in an Intake or Call Centre environment
  • You have demonstrated experience in project management and training facilitation
  • You are a problem-solver as this role will face barriers, be presented with challenges, so we need someone who can work successfully through them.
  • You are tech savvy with the ability to use a client management systems and other technologies to facilitate the role

Please note that this role requires travel so candidates must be able to travel within NSW.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Award Classification: Level 5 Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services (SCHADS) Award 2010, with above-award remuneration as per our EBA.
  • Fringe Benefits Tax benefits provides you with the option to salary package up to $15,900.
  • PWDA gifts an additional three days of holiday leave during the Christmas/New Year shut down period, as well as additional personal leave days, above the National Employment Standards, to enhance staff health and wellbeing.
