This new position is a unique opportunity to conduct research and analysis of projects that build understanding of the issues that impact access to housing and sustaining tenancies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The position will have a key focus on the Cairns and Townsville communities.

This new position will help QCOSS move into a new phase as we work to achieve our Strategic Plan and Vision into 2021 and beyond.

Key elements of the position:

  • Undertake literature reviews
  • Collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Development of systems and strategies to improve collection and manage of data and the maintenance and quality control of primary and secondary data
  • Development of evaluation frameworks
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Preparation of quality written material including visual representation of data, reports, and briefings

About you:

  • Do you identify as Australian First Nations?
  • Have you completed, or working towards completion of a relevant tertiary qualification that provides you with experience of research methods?
  • Can you undertake research and analysis that identifies issues relating to housing access and sustaining tenancies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people?
  • Can you manage the collection of primary and secondary data using both qualitative and quantitative approaches and design evaluation frameworks using appropriate methodologies?
  • Can you produce high-quality impactful evidence-based reports, briefing papers and submissions that are persuasive, useful, and accessible?
  • Do you have demonstrated experience engaging diverse stakeholders in research and policy work?
  • Can you manage diverse and complex projects within agreed timeframes and competing priorities?
