Duties / Abilities

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships invite suitable applicants to join their Technical Support team as a Senior Ranger, overseeing the natural land management of the Springvale Estate. This position is based in Atherton (flexible) and involves the management of the area to contribute to improving the water quality within the Normanby River Catchment, a significant catchment draining to the Northern Great Barrier Reef. In this role, you will engage with Traditional Owners, neighbours, government organisations and numerous external stakeholders in the ongoing management of the Springvale Station.  

The work priorities as a Senior Ranger for Springvale focus on estate and contract management and include:

  • Preparing agreements such as deeds of access and leases and includes seeking legal advice for these agreements
  • Ongoing management of contractual arrangements, including ensuring compliance, reporting, safety obligations and communications are implemented
  • Leading procurement processes and oversight of delivery
  • Addressing tenure matters
  • Establishing governance and reporting frameworks
