This is an exciting opportunity to drive real world outcomes for people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless and the community who passionately supports them.
Queensland Shelter, a Peak Body for Affordable Housing and Homelessness, is currently recruiting for a Media & Communications Manager to join our passionate, high-performing team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will be based at our Brisbane office in Spring Hill, on the CBD fringe.
We are looking for a communications expert with media / journalism experience, to support engagement with government, the media, our members and other sector stakeholders, to promote affordable housing and homelessness solutions.
The role is 0.6 FTE – 22.8 hours per week, with some potential for increased hours within the first 12 months, by mutual agreement.
Q Shelter offers a flexible work environment. The role falls within the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award and is graded level 6.1 ($46.91 per hour, or $55,616 per annum, exclusive of superannuation and annual leave loading). Q Shelter employees receive five weeks annual leave per year (pro-rata for part time) and a paid Christmas shutdown period. Q Shelter staff also have access to not-for-profit salary packaging, which increases their take home pay.
Q Shelter staff are expected to work within a culturally safe framework and actively contribute to the implementation of Q Shelter’s emerging Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.
