The Position

Our clients are, and always will be, our priority. Relationships Australia NSW provides a safe, judgement-free environment where individuals, couples and families can address the matters impacting their relationships and lives.

In this position you will be working alongside our Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners who provide much needed and valued parenting and property mediation support to families who have separated and are navigating the family law system.

From intake through to the resolution of their matters, you will provide clients with information around our services, help prepare documentation, arrange meetings, provide referrals to other relevant services, and help to ensure the cultural safety of your clients.

Key Position Details:

  • Permanent, part-time position - 4 days per week
  • Bathurst location
  • $37 p/h + super + salary packaging

Required:

  • This is an identified position, which means it is only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people*.
  • Ability to listen, yarn and connect with a diverse range of people, especially those from Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • An understanding of the important cultural characteristics that connect & sustain Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Respect for diverse beliefs and an ability to adapt your approach accordingly.
  • Working with Children & Criminal Record Check clearances.
  • Commitment to completing a Diploma of Community Services.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated experience and capabilities in a similar position.
  • Experience providing support, assistance and/or volunteering services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
  • An understanding of (or interest in) family dynamics, domestic and family violence, child safety, trauma informed practice, diversity awareness and mental health and wellbeing, from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective.
