The Open Dialogue Centre (ODC) is a Joint Venture between Relationships Australia NSW and Grant Family Philanthropy. Our mission is to improve mental health services in Australia, to make families and community key partners in providing care and support for those with mental ill health, and ensure services are responsive, accessible and adapted to the needs of the individual.

The ODC has an ambitious agenda to make significant impact in the sector within the next five years, by:

  • Demonstrating the benefits of this approach through high quality research
  • Facilitating adoption in the sector through
    • Working with existing organisations to assess their readiness for introduction of open dialogue
    • Working with organisations in developing their strategies and plans for training their staff and changing how they provide care
  • Providing training to a wide range of future practitioners
  • Advocating for open dialogue with key stakeholders across the health sector, government, academia and industry

Your new role:

Joining before our formal launch, your role is to help shape our agenda and priorities, and then bring them to life.

Working with Executive Chair, you will establish the Centre, define our business processes and project manage the implementation of our strategy.

You will lead implementation of our value proposition/offering for Mental Health organisations who are ready to embrace a new way of providing care and support our Research Lead to create and deliver a compelling research and training proposition. You will be strategic in how you build meaningful relationships with Mental Health organisations and drive change with them.

This role will evolve as the organisation grows.

The details:

  • Type of Contract: Initial Fixed Term of 24 months
  • Hours: 30-38 hours per week
  • Salary: $100k plus super (Pro-rata to contracted hours)
  • Location: Negotiable

About you:

With a background in Change or Project Management, you have experience developing a concept, product or service to be a viable and commercially sustainable offering. You are comfortable working with ambiguity that comes with a greenfield setting and have the emotional intelligence to bring others on the journey of change.

Most importantly you will be passionate about changing service delivery in the Mental Health space. You don’t need to be a clinician but will be need to understand and articulate the benefits of different care approaches, drawing on best practice overseas and the work of our Research Lead.
